The kids worked very hard over the last several weeks to create their own problem solvers using the sharks, whales, and seals that we've been working with in the Bridges math program. Now that they are finally finished, today we acted out some of the problems to solve them. Some of the examples were "Three sharks were sleeping, and three were looking for food. How many altogether?" "2 baby seals were sleeping on a rock and 8 more swam over. How many now?". The kids had fun pretending to be the animals and getting to move around while we learned about addition and subtraction! We will do more over the next few days so everyone's can be acted out by the class.
